
Empowering Fire Alarm Technicians
SAFTI-TECH® is the educational division of Home Run Alarm Company. At our trade school, we are on a mission to pass on nearly 25 years of expertise. With our new campus in Clinton Township, Michigan, we provide aspiring fire alarm specialty technicians a unique opportunity to learn and earn from day one. The SAFTI-TECH® educational programs ensure apprentices receive a State Electrical Fire Alarm Specialty Technician Apprentice card within 30 days, helping them enter a high-demand field.
A Legacy of Teaching and Opportunity
Our founders, Greg and Michele Diloné, are passionate about passing on their knowledge. “This is the culmination of my lifetime as a teacher to offer a career to someone hungry enough to learn what I went through to get here. It’s no easy road, but if I can do it, you can do it,” says Greg.


Approved by USDOL
Their program has earned the prestigious USDOL Registered Apprenticeship Program certification and approval as a Related Technical Instruction (RTI) provider through the Michigan Bureau of Construction Codes and LARA. They have also received funding through the Going Pro® Talent Fund from “Michigan Works!” to assist apprentices with work-related expenses like tools, clothing, work boots, gas cards, and even childcare in alignment with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to combat workforce shortages. Veterans may be eligible for GI Bill pay benefits and an initial hourly wage averaging $30 or higher.
The fire alarm technician career offers variety and excitement. Technicians work in diverse indoor and outdoor environments. This encompasses work in both new home construction and existing residential properties, involving the installation and repair of security systems while ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations. It also includes troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and annual inspections across various commercial and industrial sites such as retail stores, restaurants, warehouses, factories, power plants, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, apartments, airports, and marinas.
Our owner, Greg Diloné, highlights that the license can take apprentices anywhere in the world. "This license can take you anywhere in the world," he says, as he frequently travels for large-scale projects across southwest Michigan and northern Indiana Apprentices who are willing to travel 2–4 nights a month for work can earn paid per diems and fast-track their learning.
Our founder, Greg, holds multiple licenses and certifications, including State Electrical Fire Alarm Contractor and Specialty Technician licenses, BFS fire alarm and emergency voice-actuated systems designer/contractor, AutoCAD fire alarm architect engineer certification, and NICET certification. He is also licensed as a State Security Alarm Contractor, Private Security Guard Agency, and City of Detroit Fire Alarm Technician/Contractor.

Apprentices earn specialized course certifications, a USDOL diploma, and a State Electrical Fire Alarm Specialty License within four years or sooner.
